The mission of the City of Groton Farmers’ Market is to provide a venue in our neighborhood park of The City of Groton for local farmers and artisans to sell their produce and products directly to the diverse and integrated community in southeastern Connecticut. Our aim is to make accessible, affordable, healthy, locally produced food available to our community in Groton.
The City of Groton Farmer’s Market is primarily an agricultural market but also provides a variety of local baked goods, seafood/fish, meats, poultry/eggs. Grown products sold at the market must be grown in Connecticut Foods and food products must be identified as organic, or not, and include place of origin. All meats, poultry and seafood will come from local sources.
The City of Groton Farmers’ Market hold two separate seasons - our flagship Farmers’ Market season held weekly during the summer and early fall, and five Pop-up Farmers’ Markets held once a month during the late fall/ winter months.
2020 Farmers’ Market July-October Season
The 2020 Farmers’ Market regular season runs from July to October, held each Tuesday from
3-6pm at the corner of Mitchell and Meridian Streets in Washington Park.
2021 Pop-Up Farmers’ Market November-March Season - Indoor
The Pop-Up Farmers' Market will be held in the City of Groton Municipal Building (295 Meridian Street, Groton) the second Saturday of the month from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm from November 2020 to March 2021. This season’s dates are: November 14, December 12, January 9, February 13, and March 13.
Please note: Submitting an application does not guarantee a spot in the market. The City of Groton Parks and Rec Farmers’ Market Manager will contact you once your paperwork has been approved to process payments and to obtain required liability insurance and permits. Preference is given to returning vendors in good standing. Booth space for the Pop-Up Farmer's Market is $15.00 per table, per month. All invoices must be paid in full PRIOR to the Market date.
