Summer Playground for kids entering Pre-K through 9th Grade

In-Person sales will take place Monday - Friday from 4-7:30 pm and Saturdays 9 am - 2 pm. at the City Municipal Building, 295 Meridian Street, Groton.

Online Beach Pass Sales ended on Monday, May 31st and is no longer available for this season.
Mail in and Drop Box will continue to be available throughout the summer season as an additional pass purchasing option.

The beach officially opens on Saturday, June 19th, the first day you will be required to have a pass for entry.

Currently our Office is open to the public Monday- Thursday from 8 am - 4 pm

We are available on the phone from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm every weekday and there is a locked blue Drop Box to leave us any needed documents, on the right hand side top of the landing at the City Municipal Building located at 295 Meridian Street, Groton CT.

Eastern Point Beach Season & Pass Information

OFFICIAL BEACH SEASON           Saturday, June 19, 2021 to September 6, 2021

How do I purchase a Season Beach Pass:

Online Sales will be allowed May 1 — May 31 ONLY
Starting May 1st you can visit our website at, click on Programs then Beach Pass.
You must login with your User Name/Password or create a New Account before starting this process.
$1.00 has been added on to each Beach Pass price to cover mailing and postage.
Uploading of your car registration and ID is required and beach pass will be mailed to you.
Please be sure we have your
correct address for mailing.
After May 31st Online Registration will no longer be available.

Drop Box or Mail In will be available starting May 1st throughout the remainder of the summer (ends 9/3/21) to drop off all your necessary documents (copy of car registration and photo ID) and beach pass fee for processing. The Drop Box is the big blue box at the top of the landing of the City Municipal Building.
You must include a self-addressed stamped envelope OR add $1.00 to the fee to cover mailing.  Please be sure we have your
correct address for mailing.  Checks made out to: City of Groton

In Person Sales will begin on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 9 am—2 pm.  In person sales only accept cash or check for payment. Checks made out to: City of Groton

Acceptable documents to obtain a Season Beach Pass: Current car registration of the car that the pass will go on, ID (driver’s license) must match name on that registration. If you are a city taxpayer or have just moved to the City of Groton but registration does not show a City address you can show a current tax bill, utility bill, lease or deed to prove residency.

(Vehicle registration is needed to purchase a pass)

* To be eligible for this rate, an individual must be 62 on or before Labor Day.

Refund/Charge Policy

Refund Policy
There are no refunds unless a program is cancelled by the Recreation Department. In the case of cancellation by the Rec. Dept., the program fee (less online convenience charges) will be refunded via check from the City of Groton. All fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable, except with a physician’s note. In this instance, a prorated credit (less online convenience charges) will be issued.
Convenience Charge
There is a 2.5% of your total cart + $.50 per transaction fee that will be added to your total upon checkout. These charges are applied in consideration of the bank fees which the City bears to accept credit cards as a form of payment.
