Eastern Point Beach

Eastern Point Beach is a lovely family oriented beach with seasonal amenities that include lifeguards, snack bar, restrooms and showers, and basketball and volleyball courts. Scenic views of where the Thames River meets the Long Island Sound are enjoyed by all.  The beach season runs from mid-June through Labor Day. This year the beach season begins on Saturday, June 19, 2021 and ends on Monday, September 6, 2021.

Gate hours are 8 am - 8 pm through Labor Day, September 6th.
 

How do I purchase a Season Beach Pass:

Online Sales will be allowed May 1 — May 31 ONLY
Starting May 1st you can visit our website at
http://cityofgroton.recdesk.com, click on Programs then Beach Pass.
You must login with your User Name/Password or create a New Account before starting this process.
$1.00 has been added on to each Beach Pass price to cover mailing and postage.
Uploading of your car registration and ID is required and beach pass will be mailed to you.
Please be sure we have your
correct address for mailing.
After May 31st Online Registration will no longer be available.

Drop Box or Mail In will be available starting May 1st throughout the remainder of the summer (ends 9/3/21) to drop off all your necessary documents (copy of car registration and photo ID) and beach pass fee for processing. The Drop Box is the big blue box at the top of the landing of the City Municipal Building.
You must include a self-addressed stamped envelope OR add $1.00 to the fee to cover mailing.  Please be sure we have your
correct address for mailing.  Checks made out to: City of Groton

In Person Sales will begin on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 9 am—2 pm.  In person sales only accept cash or check for payment. Checks made out to: City of Groton

Acceptable documents to obtain a Season Beach Pass: Current car registration of the car that the pass will go on, ID (driver’s license) must match name on that registration. If you are a city taxpayer or have just moved to the City of Groton but registration does not show a City address you can show a current tax bill, utility bill, lease or deed to prove residency.
