basketball hoops and outdoor pavilions. The park also features a Workers' Memorial, honoring those who have died or been injured on the job. George Marquardt donated the land for Washington Park on Dec. 31, 1931 to residents of the City of Groton.
It provides a recreational and family atmosphere we are proud of.

PICNIC PAVILIONS at Washington Park
The City of Groton has six (6) picnic pavilions, with charcoal grills at Washington Park - a perfect place to relax and socialize during those lazy days of summer. Military personnel receive a 10% discount.

All field reservations must be made through the Parks and Recreation office (860-446-4128). Fees for the day and event will be set at the time the field reservations are scheduled. League reservation requests are taken in January of each year.
